I will be on annual leave for the next few weeks/ weekends. Fr Mark Godridge will be here for the weekend Masses and he, or the local priests, would respond to an emergency or funeral etc call from the parish office.

MIGRANT AND REFUGEE SUNDAY

This annual celebration will be observed this  Sunday 26th August 2018 at St Thomas the Apostle Parish, 1005 Cranbourne – Frankston Road, Cranbourne/ Clyde North. The worship space is located on the first floor of St Peter’s College, Cranbourne East.


TO THE SRI LANKAN CATHOLIC COMMUNITY

Fr Hilarion Fernando OSB, of St Michael’s parish, Berwick, will be celebrating a Thanksgiving Mass for his 45th ordination anniversary. AN INVITATION FROM THE MAURITIAN COMMUNITY AT ST. PAT’S

SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION

The sacrament of reconciliation for the first time, will be celebrated on October 25th in our parish. For those children, attending non parish schools, who would like to receive this sacrament, please contact Siji Dominic @ 59417315 – or siji@stpatrickspakenham.com.au – soon to register. The four preparatory sessions begin on 12th Sept.  It is expected that each child and a family member will attend each activity.

FATHER’S DAY APPEAL FOR THE PRIEST’S WELFARE FOUNDATION OF THE DIOCESE OF SALE

This Fund supports the priests and deacons of our diocese in times of sickness or retirement.  At present the Foundation is supporting nine priests and three deacons in retirement and is responsible for the other priests, including our overseas priests, and deacons in time of sickness.  The budgeted expenditure of the Foundation for them over the next year will be about $180,000. Envelopes are available in the Church for the Special Collection to be taken up next weekend to assist the work of the Priests’ Welfare Foundation of the Diocese of Sale.  All donations of $2.00 and over are tax deductible.  If you require a receipt for taxation purposes, please print your name and address clearly on the special envelope and a receipt will be issued in due course.


DIOCESAN PILGRIMAGE

On Sunday 16th Sept,2018, there will be a prilgrimage to our lady of Perpetual help, St Mary’s Cathedral, Sale, led by Bishop Pat O’Regan. Pilgrimage departs from Cathedral Hall, Cnr MacAlister & Pearson Sts Sale, and continues to the Port of Sale, returning to the Cathedral and closing with Liturgy of the word at St Mary’s Cathedral. The Catholic Diocese of Sale has its administrative offices at Sion House, 6 Witton St., Warragul.  The Diocese has approximately 120,000 Catholics. THE JOSEPHITE ASSOCIATE’S

They are currently collecting handbags in good clean condition, no longer in use, which may be lurking in your cupboards. Also any donations of basic  toiletries would be greatly accepted. These will be distributed to city women’s shelters, before Christmas. Our collection will continue till September 21st. Last year a total of 107,208 were shared among grateful and surprised recipients. Also don’t forget our used stamp collection box in foyer.
